Though the box from both versions of this kit is the same, the new release includes a cardboard band (obi) around it with an illustration of the figure. There are plenty of tanks with perfectly normal color schemes in the World War Toons line, but the Pinky line is particularly interesting thanks to the colors, box art, and super cute characters. Meng has now re-released the orange panther (and the two other Pinky kits), this time with a crewman in an orange suit to match the box art.įor those of you just tuning in, World War Toons is a game by Studio Roqovan that includes “egg” tanks, which is what these squished, non-scale kits are based on. It followed the pink Sherman and mint green KV-2, and is the first in the line to feature a humanoid character in the box art (instead of a cuddly animal). Just be sure to remove any paint before adding pieces painted separately.The original World War Toons orange panther was the third entry in the Pink lineup, and came out in September 2018. Some parts need a little cleanup, but they fit tightly so glue isn't required. The tracks on my daughter's Sherman have begun to disintegrate and are tearing apart. The decals went down like paint and disappeared under a single coat of matte, but the one piece rubber band tracks concern me. There were no problems during construction at all. Odd choices, I know.ĭuring assembly I chose to remove the spare tracks links from the from slope, delete the turret antenna, remove the oddly shaped and unidentifiable thing from the turret roof, and move the antenna base to the back engine deck. My biggest regret is that they don't come with any cartoons figures to go with them. These are fun little kits and great for decompressing, practicing skills, or if you're just simply new or recently returned to the hobby.
